Privacy Policy

Information stored by Class Tempo

Class Tempo can store alarm names, optional student names and photos, schedules, destinations or messages, student-group membership, timer information, alert-test results, app customization choices, and other settings. This information is stored locally in the app’s private storage on the user’s device.

The current version does not require a Class Tempo account and does not upload this information to Ray Fryman Design LLC or a Ray Fryman Design server.

Camera, Photos, and Files

Users may optionally take or choose a student photo and may choose a school or workplace logo from Photos or Files. Class Tempo uses the device’s system camera, photo picker, or file picker only when the user selects one of these actions.

When a user saves a selected image, Class Tempo stores an app-owned copy in its private storage. The original image remains in Photos or Files and is not modified or deleted by Class Tempo. Class Tempo does not scan a user’s photo library or files, and student photos are not included in notification or alarm content.

Alarms, notifications, and lock-screen content

Class Tempo requests alarm and notification permissions so the device can deliver scheduled reminders, classroom alarms, and timer alerts. These permissions can be changed at any time in the device’s settings.

Alert titles, times, destinations or messages, and group names may be displayed by the operating system on the lock screen, in notification history, or on a paired Apple Watch. The “Hide Student Names on Lock Screen” setting replaces an individual student’s name with a generic student-reminder title. It does not hide student-group names or the reminder’s destination or message.

Class Tempo schedules these alerts locally. The current version does not use remote push notifications.

Feedback and sharing

Class Tempo does not automatically send feedback or alert-test results. If a user chooses the Feedback link or the Share Test Results option, the user decides what to send and which email or sharing service to use. Information sent that way is handled by the selected service under its own privacy practices.

Analytics, advertising, and sale of data

The current version does not include third-party advertising, behavioral tracking, analytics, or cross-app tracking. Ray Fryman Design LLC does not sell or rent personal information.

Retention and deleting information

Information remains on the device until the user changes or deletes it, replaces or removes an app-owned photo or logo, or removes Class Tempo. Users can delete alarms and student groups and can remove student photos and custom branding inside the app. Saved alert-test results remain local to the device and are limited to the six most recent results.

Removing Class Tempo removes the app information stored with that installation from the active device, subject to the device’s backup and restore settings. Because the current version does not create a server account or upload classroom information to Ray Fryman Design LLC, there is no separate Class Tempo cloud account to delete.

Children and student information

Class Tempo is intended as a tool for educators and other adult users. The app is not directed to children and does not ask students to create accounts. Educators are responsible for following their school or organization’s privacy, recordkeeping, consent, and device-use policies when entering student-related information.

Security

Class Tempo keeps its saved information in the app’s private storage and relies on the device and operating system’s security controls. Users should protect their device with an appropriate passcode and use the lock-screen privacy option when student information should not be visible. No storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

This website

This website does not currently use account registration, contact forms, advertising trackers, or analytics. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Class Tempo develops. The date above will change whenever a revised policy is published.
